Vegetables or Ice-cream?

I know what just came to your mind reading this blog, ‘Another blog with food in it?’

Well, not this one!

What if I ask you, ‘Vegetables or Ice-cream? What will you choose?’

.

.

.

If your answer is vegetables, I must appreciate your understanding and maturity!

If your answer is ice-cream, then you might want to give it a thought.

This is my all-time favorite question, because it goes beyond logic for me.

In words of famous management professor Shri Kumar Roa, it’s a ‘Vegetable Moment’!

Let me explain!

Many a times in our life, we are stuck at these decisions where we need to choose. This choice is very difficult for us because on one side we have something that we want, we desire and on the other side we have something which we don’t, for an instance, want but we know that it’s the right thing to do.

Isn’t it similar to our childhood days?

I mean we knew vegetables are good for our health and our parents left no chance to make us eat it. But, on the other hand we used to crave on this junk food like pizzas, burgers and what not (many of us do it even now).

Back then, we were kids and we wouldn’t have that kind of maturity to choose the best for ourselves.

But what about now?

If you are stuck in this vegetable moment what do you choose?

You choose what you WANT or you choose what you really NEED?

Your VEGETABLES might not be something that you like but you know that’ll surely benefit you in your future.

For example, consider your Heart-Break as Spinach, your Rejection as Fenugreek.

You don’t necessarily love these experiences but they teach you a lot of important lessons in your life.

You define your boundaries, your values and virtues over these life experiences, that is why they are so important in your life because they become the reason for future successes.

These VEGETABLE moments shape you into the person you are today. They make you value what you have.

So, the next time you get caught up in such a VEGETABLE moment, you’ll know what to choose.

When you choose these VEGETABLES over ICE-CREAM, you love yourself one percent more than before, you value yourself one percent more than before.

Isn’t that important, that at the end of the day you feel good about yourselves, you feel slightly more confident than before.

These small steps makes it easy for us to achieve our dream life and be a person better than you were before.

So be aware in your life to catch yourself in this vegetable moment and know that it’s all for you to get good at life!

On that note, let’s meet on next Sunday with another amazing blog.

Thankyou!

Plan-Organize-Recreate: How do we Deal with change?

credit: third party image reference If changes in life haunts you and you are least comfortable with changes, then this one is for you! Many of us find it difficult to change according to situations. This is because we are in some way or the other scared of changes. Some will say that, “Oh come on, I am not scared of changes, let it come I’ll face it all”. But, speaking frankly we all get little disturbed if things don’t work as per we expected them to be. Exactly, that’s what happens deep down we all have expectations of how things will go about in our life. But, as soon as some situations change and we find that nothing is going according to how we thought it would be and we resist changing according to it. In simple words, we resist change in our life. Psychiatrist Elizabeth Kubler explains this beautifully in her Kubler-Ross Model. The model explains the five stages of human emotions when something changes abruptly or when human finds it difficult to cope up with the change. The fi...

Plan-Organize-Recreate: If you find it difficult to stay with a good habit for long? You must read this!

Consider this situation: You read or watch something about staying fit then you decide that you’ll go for a run first in the morning. Why does it happen that some don’t even wake up for it, some wake up think about going but somehow the bed doesn’t leave them, some wake up and go for a run for a day but never continue that, some just go for a week and quit, some quit it after 15 days. Not many but a few people who continue this habit long enough to make it their daily lifestyle. They are the fitter ones. Also, those ‘not many but few’ who make such small but effective habits their ‘daily lifestyle’ are undoubtedly extraordinary. These people move forward from mediocrity and set examples for the society. However cheesy but inspiring this line sounds, majority don’t make up to it. Is it really that hard to bring change ourselves for good? Is it that difficult to create a wonderful lifestyle for ourselves? The thing is, wanting for a change is good. But, How do we make it to the destinati...
