Vegetables or Ice-cream?

I know what just came to your mind reading this blog, ‘Another blog with food in it?’ Well, not this one! What if I ask you, ‘Vegetables or Ice-cream? What will you choose?’ . . . If your answer is vegetables, I must appreciate your understanding and maturity! If your answer is ice-cream, then you might want to give it a thought. This is my all-time favorite question, because it goes beyond logic for me. In words of famous management professor Shri Kumar Roa, it’s a ‘Vegetable Moment’! Let me explain! Many a times in our life, we are stuck at these decisions where we need to choose. This choice is very difficult for us because on one side we have something that we want, we desire and on the other side we have something which we don’t, for an instance, want but we know that it’s the right thing to do.   Isn’t it similar to our childhood days?     I mean we knew vegetables are good for our health and our parents left no chance to make us eat it. But, on the

How to find the Blueprint to your Life?

You need a Blueprint to build a house, you need a model to build a business, and you need a plan to be successful at a task. But, have you ever thought what do you need to build up a successful life? Well, no worries, because it’s never too late to find the blueprint to your life. One of my favorite author, Vishen Lakhiani, calls it the ‘SOULPRINT’. The questions is, why do I need a Soulprint? That’s because when you know your plan of action well, there is nothing in the world stopping you to grow. You know what your soul needs, nothing that anybody says will ever affect you and nothing that anybody does will ever affect you. You’ll become unbeatable!! How do we find our soulprint? It’s pretty easy and people love doing this small exercise! It’s important that when you do this exercise you should be in a very relaxed state with no disturbances. Grab a pen and paper before you sit. Set a timer of 20 minutes on your phone. ‘Start writing all the peaks and lows o

Plan-Organize-Recreate: How do we Deal with change?

credit: third party image reference If changes in life haunts you and you are least comfortable with changes, then this one is for you! Many of us find it difficult to change according to situations. This is because we are in some way or the other scared of changes. Some will say that, “Oh come on, I am not scared of changes, let it come I’ll face it all”. But, speaking frankly we all get little disturbed if things don’t work as per we expected them to be. Exactly, that’s what happens deep down we all have expectations of how things will go about in our life. But, as soon as some situations change and we find that nothing is going according to how we thought it would be and we resist changing according to it. In simple words, we resist change in our life. Psychiatrist Elizabeth Kubler explains this beautifully in her Kubler-Ross Model. The model explains the five stages of human emotions when something changes abruptly or when human finds it difficult to cope up with the change. The fi

Plan-Organize-Recreate: Most Effective Practice for a Bounce Back at Life!

credit: third party image reference Often it happens so that we are in a difficult situation, something really bothers us and our thinking is just stuck to one thing. Well, this situation right now, is worldwide considering the current situation. With the loss of people for some, loss of jobs for some, loss of mental health for some or even loss of wealth for some. Every person is somehow stressing either about their past or their future. In simple words, everybody is in a difficult situation. While, most people feel that only if we move forward this difficult situation, ‘we can do something with life’/ ‘we can change our lives’ because let’s face it everyone feels stuck at their house. But, the truth is anything which is better for us is the ‘present’. So, rather than thinking about how much my life will change after this situation, think about how I can deal with the current situation and get the best out of ourselves. The single most effective habit to deal with our emotions and str

Plan-Organize-Recreate: If you find it difficult to stay with a good habit for long? You must read this!

Consider this situation: You read or watch something about staying fit then you decide that you’ll go for a run first in the morning. Why does it happen that some don’t even wake up for it, some wake up think about going but somehow the bed doesn’t leave them, some wake up and go for a run for a day but never continue that, some just go for a week and quit, some quit it after 15 days. Not many but a few people who continue this habit long enough to make it their daily lifestyle. They are the fitter ones. Also, those ‘not many but few’ who make such small but effective habits their ‘daily lifestyle’ are undoubtedly extraordinary. These people move forward from mediocrity and set examples for the society. However cheesy but inspiring this line sounds, majority don’t make up to it. Is it really that hard to bring change ourselves for good? Is it that difficult to create a wonderful lifestyle for ourselves? The thing is, wanting for a change is good. But, How do we make it to the destinati

Plan-Organize-Recreate: Heal yourself with food!

Did you know that eating the right food at the right time is a medicine to our body? If no, then you need to check this out! We always eat whenever and whatever we feel without any thought behind it. But food is that fuel to our body that not only gives us the energy we need but also cures our body just like medicine. After eating the right food of right amout and at the right time, we can see some miraculous difference in mind, soul and body.  Right! Not only the body but also our soul and mind. All these benefits can be only seen if we consiously eat food with total awareness.  Let's see how!? 1) What to eat?: Fresh, Local, Satvic and Seasonal. Nature has designed certain types of food for certain type of areas. Well, this verifies the theory of eating food grown within 100Km radius. This local food is mostly fresh with all the 'satva' in it. Also, season is a major element that we need to consider. 2) When to eat?:  Our digestive system is synced with the sun

Plan-Organize-Recreate: "I love you Food, Do you love me back?"

If you love your food, does it love you back? It's high time we ask this question to our food because nobody loves the idea of loving and not getting it back! Dr. Daniel Amen is the inspiration behind this blog. He is a world renowned psychiatrist, professor, speaker and author. He has been working how brain and mind works and about brain health for a quiet long now. Psychiatrists are the only medical specialist that virtually never look at the organ they treat and work on mere guess of cluster sysptoms, but with his love for medical imaging Dr. Amen has the largest database of brains in the world with an experience of scanning 83,000 brain. Why brain health?  Simple, if our brain works well, we work well! This is so easy to understand but hard when we put it in practice. According to Dr. Amen, There are so many risk factors that pushes the brain of a person to stress, anxiety, depression, worries, strokes, seizures, alzheimer and soo many other health and mind related
